Abstract

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Most Merciful Researcher: Omar Al-Anbar Supervisor: Prof. Mohammad Al-Qudah ABSTRACT Thinking is a human activity of a different types amongst which is critical thinking. Critical thinking represents ability as a skill that can be acquired and learned. The development of critical thinking, however, has manifestations in many fields, on the top of which is the Arabic literary criticism which in addition to many other tools uses thinking to examine literary texts. Therefore, it becomes clear how close the two terms can be i.e., critical thinking and literary criticism. This paper aims to investigate the relationship between critical thinking and literary criticism drawing on the borders and frameworks of such relation. The present research is divided into three primary sections: Chapter One: Thinking (Concepts and Typology). Chapter Two: Critical Thinking (Concepts, Exponents, Properties and Elements). Chapter Three: The Relationship between Critical Thinking and Literary Criticism.
