Abstract

Al Qibla newspaper has been an important dimension in recording and publishing the historical news and events of the Great Arab Revolt (1916-1918), led by Sharif Al Hussein Bin Ali. Al- Qibla newspaper was issued in Mecca at the time of the Great Arab Revolt, recording and tracking the course of the revolution through the journalists and writers who documented these events. The siege of (Taif )in 1334 AH / 1916 AD was one of the rounds of the armed military clash between the forces of the Great Arab Revolt under the leadership of Prince Abdullah Bin Al Hussein, Commander of the Eastern Arab Army, and the Turkish forces in (Taif). The importance of this study comes from recording accurate details of the siege's events, operations and consequences by the commander of the siege of (Taif) personally, Prince Abdullah Bin Al Hussein, through an interview conducted by the then editor of Al Qiblah newspaper Muhibuldeen Al-Khatib. In that interview, Prince Abdullah Bin Al Hussein clarified all the events related to the siege, including subdivisions of the attacking Arab army, as well as the preludes to the attack and its operations until the end of the siege by its victory over the Turkish forces.
