Abstract

This study deals with Buddha doctrine of “Anatta” non-Self, Anatta is one of the main bedrock doctrine of Buddhism.The Buddhist denial of any “soul” or “self” is what distinguishes Buddhism from philosophical thought and major religions of the world, in its core philosophical and ontological texts. According to Buddha the notion of self is misconception, due to illusory, which results in thoughts such as egoism, atrocious and arrogance and the feeling of disgust and extreme hatred. The purpose of this study is to shed light on the Buddha doctrine of “Anatta” non-self. The study concluded that Buddha confirms that there is no unchanging, permanent self or essence in living beings.
