Journalists Training Needs (Field Study)

Abstract

This study aimed at identifying to what extent the Jordanian media institutions trained their staff, in addition to that; identification journalists training needs and the training workshops they participated in. This is a descriptive study, using survey method to achieve its objectives through a questionnaire consisted of 112 items, distributed to a sample of journalists. The study reached the following results: most of the journalists are holding university degrees at different levels, proficient in computer skills and that they use the Internet in their work on a daily basis. Regarding training, It is noted that a moderate percentage of the journalists benefited from the previous workshops training, and the majority of them, did not participate in training workshops outside Jordan, noting that the vast majority of respondents want to participate in these courses if they have the opportunity to do so.
