Italian as a Foreign Language: Error Analysis in Oral Production

Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to analyze and investigate errors in oral production of Arabic learners of Italian as a foreign language whose mother tongue is Arabic and whose L2 is English. The intention is to identify, categorize, explain and quantify errors that are reflected in students' interlanguage and to examine their L1 and L2 transfers. For the realization of this study, quantitative and qualitative linguistic analysis of the results was done through audio-recorded interviews. Most frequent, important errors and difficulties have been linguistically commented.
