Abstract

This paper aims to shed the light on the Islamic religious doctrines, opinions and schools of thought in Aleppo and its vicinity, the extent to which the Aleppo people accepted those schools, and the innovations that their followers attempted to disseminate in the Aleppo community and its surrounding areas during the first three centuries of the Hijra since the dominance of islam (15-17AH/ 636-638 AD) until the establishment of Emirate of Bani Hamdan in 333 AH / 945 AD when the emirate's official doctrine turned to the Shiite one. The paper also explores evolution of the doctrine of Ahl al-Sunnah in Aleppo, and highlights the general features of this doctrine without immersing in its evidences and its early follower.
