L’équivalence sémantique dans les dictionnaires bilingues franco-arabes : source, traduction et contexte social

Abstract

In this article, we try to examine a synthesis of semantic equivalence in bilingual French-Arabic dictionaries. In the first place, we propose to present a list of roles of the bilingual French-Arabic dictionaries. Second, we try to locate the status of the bilingual dictionary in relation to the translation operation. We aim to submit functional practices to the question of semantic equivalence of a corpus of idiomatic expressions that the bilingual Franco-Arab dictionaries occupy in this period of intensified exchanges between linguistic communities.
